Reshape My Fitness by Ketogenic Diet

My name is Sharapat Polotova. I am student at Northeastern Illinois University and majoring in business.

I have a new born baby boy and he is 4 months old now.

After having a baby my body changed completely and I started feeling uncomfortable and wanted to lose weight.

Since I was breast feeding it was difficult.

After 2 months my baby stopped breast feeding and he just drinks Similac now.

I did not plan to stop feeding that early, but he liked more Similac than my milk, and that’s how he stopped drinking my milk.

This was the reason to start working on my body and health.

One of my best friends worked as a trainer and now we go to same school.

In our school we have a large Physical Educational Complex where all students can use the Gym, Yoga and pool for free.

Since, my friend has experience with training she taught me how to work out.

So, generally I lost little weight at first but still needed to lose more.
Ketogenic Diet
I had heard of the Keto diet from the popularity on social media.

I started eating Keto and it was unbelievable helpful, and I would recommend to my friends as well.

The ketogenic diet consists of high-fat, moderate-protein, and low-carbohydrate diet that has been proven to treat difficult to control epilepsy.

When I first started the diet, I experienced the headaches and nausea as what can be expected within the first few weeks.

Eventually my body went into ketosis.

Ketosis is when your body shifts into fat-burning mode and the fuel that is produced is called ketones.

Glucose and ketones were the only energy source used by the brain.

So, after the first initial side effects subsided I was finally able to lose 17 pounds.

I started at 167 and now am at 150.

I feel better as well as after have more energy.

Now granted at first this diet was hard because I had to reshape my cooking skills and how I shopped around the grocery store.

Finding new recipes without or with low carbohydrates can be difficult but also can be very rewarding when you can stick with the plan.

One key tip would be to plan your meals and also prep them.

That way you are not tempted to stray away from what you are supposed to eat.

Also, being able to read nutrition labels can be helpful regardless of which diet.

Servings in America are much larger than many around the world.

However, the serving size on a label might not be exactly right for you depending on how many calories you need to consume.

Understanding how your body works as well as how it burns fat can be beneficial as well.

When considering doing the keto diet I did a lot of research as to what foods contained carbohydrates.

There are a lot of great articles that helped steer me in the right direction.

For instance, many confuse this as eating more oils or fruits instead of breads and rice.

However, in reality keto encourages a high fat diet including avocados, nuts, and fish.

One of my favorite recipes included eating salmon with a small side of asparagus.

Even though asparagus has a small amount of carbs as long as you keep the amount beneath 25 grams your body will stay in ketosis and will continue to burn fat.
